General Announcements
A Word From Brad

Are you ready for the
weekend? Frank and Michael
Rocco are our special guests
this Sunday morning at all
three services. Frank is a
highly successful high
school football coach.
Michael is the quarterback
for University of Virginia.
In light of all the current
conversation in the sports
world regarding faith and
athletics, I think you'll
enjoy hearing from Frank and
Michael as they share about
faith, sports and real life.
Michael will be available to
sign autographs between
services. Take this
opportunity to invite others
to attend this Sunday at
Cool Spring.
Are you in a small group or
Sunday School Class on
Sundays? We have a number of
opportunities at both the
8:30 am and 10:00 am hours.
Why is Sunday morning Bible
Study so important? It's a
great opportunity to learn,
but equally as important, it
is a time to connect and
relate with others. A church
is really a community. In
community we develop
relationally by living
connected. A great way to
make friends is through
Sunday morning Bible Study.
Not sure where to start?
Stop by the Welcome Center a
little early this Sunday and
ask for suggestions and
directions.
Peace,
Brad
Super Bowl Sunday
Guest Speakers
February 5th at 8:30, 10:00,
& 11:15 am
Michael and Frank Rocco will
be our guest speakers for
all three services on Super
Bowl Sunday. Michael is the
current University of
Virginia quarterback, and
his father Frank is a highly
successful high school
football coach. The subject
of where and how faith and
sports intersect has become
a very popular and
polarizing topic in our
country. You are
invited to hear Frank &
Michael talk about their
faith, sports, and real life
on a day our culture has
labeled Super Bowl Sunday.
Come meet Frank & Michael at
Cool Spring and catch the
excitement as we celebrate
this time together.
Michael will sign autographs
between services.

February 5 - 26
The Food Pantry is distributing
approximately 40 bags of groceries each
month. This requires a lot of green
beans, peaches, soup, spaghetti and
peanut butter!! The Adult Sunday School
classes have each been assigned an item
or item group to donate. Your generosity
is always appreciated! If you are not in
a Sunday School class, please feel free
to donate any items you want! PLEASE be
sure that NOTHING is out-of-date,
because we cannot use those items. With
cold weather settling in, we want to be
able to help as many families as
possible and not turn anyone away.
MOPS - Mothers of
Preschoolers
Join us on the second and
fourth Tuesdays from

Led by Kelly English
Do you desire to grow in
your relationship with God
and His Word, and with other
women and the world around
you? This might be the place
for you!
Apples of Gold
Apples of Gold
is an eight-week mentoring
class that provides a way
"for older women to nurture
younger women in the Word of
God and the Bible and to
encourage them to obey that
Word." Seasoned women of
God, together with younger
women, seek the Lord's
direction in learning and
applying the principles
taught in Titus 2:3-5. In
addition, the group is
instructed in a variety of
cooking and hospitality
skills, culminating each
week in a shared meal. Would
you enjoy learning from
older women of faith how to
better love your family,
practice hospitality, learn
some new cooking tips and
create a home that reflects
your love for God? The first
class will begin on Tuesday,
January 31 from 9:30 am to
12:30 pm. Please call Marsha
Dodd at 779-0659 if you are

Great Ministry
Opportunity for Winter
With the Children's
Building renovation
scheduled to begin in
early January, a number
of location changes will
result. There is a
great need to
effectively direct
church family and
guests each Sunday
morning during this
time. Parking lot
greeters will be a
welcome sight when
families arrive on
campus. We're organizing
a team to greet folks in
our lots and direct them
to where they'll need
to go. If you would like
to talk about
joining the Sunday
morning parking lot
team, more details are
available from Ted at
746-2152 or
ttussey@coolspring.org
. This is a unique way
to reach out to those
arriving for
worship each Sunday.
Lord's Supper and
Baptismal Teams
We are looking for
individuals or couples
who would be willing to
serve on our Communion
Team. This team is
responsible for
preparing the elements
for communion and then
cleaning up and storing
away the trays after the
observance.
We also have an
opportunity for a couple
or individuals who would
be willing to serve as
Baptism Assistants.
These people help to
assist the officiating
minister with providing
for the needs of our
baptismal candidates the
morning of the
ordinance. Please
contact Pastor Glen at
746-2493 or
gbohannon@coolspring.org
to inquire further.
Reception Desk
Volunteers Needed
We Need
Your Help!!!
A smile for a visitor, a
cheerful greeting for a
telephone caller and
pleasant instructions
for a delivery person
are all very important
duties of a Cool Spring
volunteer week-day
receptionist. Positive
first impressions are
critical in helping our
church make a difference
in the lives of those in
our community. That's
why our receptionists
are such important
people!
Does this sound like a
position for you? Our
desire is to staff two
people a day: 9:00 am to
12:30 pm and 12:30 to
4:00 pm. We have seven
very capable, faithful
volunteers. Our current
need is for one
volunteer Wednesday
afternoon, two
volunteers on Fridays
and substitutes for
EVERY day. If you can't
work every week, perhaps
you can share with
another person. For more
details, please call
Candace at 746-8970 Ext
3 or e-mail
cnahodil@coolspring.org
.
Greeters Needed
Friendly people are
needed at various
locations throughout the
church to assist guests
on Sunday mornings.
Please call Peggy Hoover
at 779-2086 for more
information.

2011 Lottie Moon
Christmas Offering for
International Missions
Cool Spring Goal:
$30,000
Received to Date: $32,227
The 2011 theme is "His
Heart, His Voice, His Hands:
I am Southern Baptist
missions." It reminds us
that as followers of Jesus,
we - the Church - are called
to be the body of Christ. We
are His heart, His hands and
His voice in the midst of a
world filled with unreached
peoples. We are part of the
task to fulfill the Great
Commission. And although we
Southern Baptists have been
praying, giving and going
for 160 years, the task is
far from finished.
